Keflavík to Vík to Reykholt, then the Retreat Spa and a final night in Reykjavík. Time for the landscapes, good food and a little rest.
Tentative: depart Portland June 24, arrive Iceland June 25, return July 3. The year 2027 and overnight-flight interpretation are working assumptions. Flights and reservations are still to confirm; all times are planning targets.
If June 24 is the Iceland arrival instead, there is one extra day beyond this nine-day plan.

The days
Overall cost
Estimates for two in USD, not confirmed quotes or guaranteed exchange rates. Eight Iceland overnight stays are counted once. Flights, any rental-coverage upgrade beyond the allowance, Berg early access and optional extras are additional. A preceding-night nap room at Berg previously carried a ~$290 estimate; replace it with the actual arrangement, not an extra room charge alongside an early-access fee. Each day has an expandable cost breakdown. Day 2 groceries cover Vík breakfasts and packed meals; Day 5 groceries cover the cabin stay. Fuel is counted once above.
Days 6 and 7 can swap with the forecast only if Landmannalaugar parking, Fontana and Friðheimar changes are available. Review forecasts before cancellation deadlines and check roads again that morning. If highland access is unsuitable on both days, use a relaxed local day for missed Golden Circle sights and rest.
